Chioma Chilaka ANP-BC
Ms. Chilaka attended John Jay College of Criminal Justice CUNY, studying Computer Information Systems. She was a year shy of graduation when she transitioned to nursing at Lehman College CUNY, where she completed her Bachelor’ of Science in Nursing (BSN). She worked as a registered nurse for six-year on a surgical unit at one of the city’s H+H hospitals. She earned her Masters’ of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a concentration in Adult Health Nurse Practitioner from Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing CUNY. She currently works as a Primary Care Nurse Practitioner at a city hospital treating patients with various medical conditions. Ms. Chilaka precepts, Nurse Practitioner students in their primary care rotations. She is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Her areas of interest include diabetes management and reducing health disparities. She is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Public Health with a concentration in Health Policy and Management from the School of Public Health CUNY. Ms. Chilaka is presently the co-chair of the NP Council for Health and Hospitals and also a member of the Nurse Practitioner Association of New York State (NPA).
