Miriam Emokpae is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, presently working in CPEP at Kings County Hospital as an Internist. She migrated to the US in 1999 with a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from the University of Benin, Benin City, Nigeria. Upon arriving in the US, she worked at Macy’s store, Circuit City Store, in Lakeside Family Services as a Social Worker. Then became a Food safety Inspector with the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, where she worked for eight years before attending Nursing school.
She completed her nursing program with an Associate Degree in Nursing for Queensborough Community College. Having recorded her bachelor’s degree in the CUNY System got admitted into the FNP Bridge program at Lehman College, where she obtained her master’s degree in nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner with Board Certification with American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She is currently getting her post Graduate Certificate program at Hunter College. Upon completion, she will be a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). She is currently a proud member of ANCC, AANP, ANA, and ANP.
NP Miriam Emokpae has worked in various facilities in her Nursing career, St Mary’s Skill Nursing Facility, YAI (Young Adult Institute), Elmhurst hospital, Mobile Crisis in Kings County Hospital, and Currently in the Psychiatric Emergency Room at Kings County Hospital.
She is a curious investigator, enjoys cooking and traveling.
